Pressure to blend
When the harvest falls, blending with cheap oil puts the whole sector under pressure.

We support olive oil producers in being able to show the purity of their product and the region it came from on the basis of measurement.
Implementation
A setup that puts your product's purity and origin on record. Blending with another oil shows up as a difference when compared against the reference. The trace belonging to the region your product came from supports your geographic indication claim. You see whether bought-in oil matches its declaration before it goes into the tank.
Olive oil is the product where blending is discussed most. That is why good product ends up having to speak for itself.
Product blended with cheap oil sits on the shelf beside yours. Your regional claim sets your price but has no measurement behind it. Export buyers ask for a purity document. You cannot verify the source of bulk oil you buy beyond the declaration.

When the harvest falls, blending with cheap oil puts the whole sector under pressure.
For products carrying a registered regional name, claims are expected to be supported by measurement.
Purity enquiries from target markets are the most frequent obstacle to export.
Regulation
Under Article 31(6) of Law No. 5996, the name of the company that produced or imported a food confirmed by laboratory results to be imitated or adulterated, along with the product name, brand and batch and/or serial number, is published by the Ministry. Because the announcement is made at batch level, it matters that businesses can tell their own batches apart reliably.
Since 2013 it has brought together the liaison bodies of the European Commission, the member states, Switzerland, Norway and Iceland to share information and cooperate on cross-border food fraud cases. The network's coordinated actions in areas such as honey, spices and food sold online indicate where the risk lies in these product groups.

FAQ
No. Your product's own composition is examined; your packaging, your recipe and your machinery are left untouched. A product waiting in the warehouse or already on sale can be examined too.
Let's set up verification for your olive oil together. We will start from your region, your harvest and your target markets.
