How do you verify that a contract-manufactured batch matches your formulation?

We support cosmetics brands in being able to show that their product conforms to its formulation and that its raw materials match what is declared.

Implementation

Molevex in cosmetics.

A conformity record running from goods-in to the finished product. You see that the contract-manufactured batch is the same as the formulation you approved. You confirm that the botanical and natural raw materials you buy come from the source declared. A record grounded in measurement stands behind the component you feature on the packaging.

In cosmetics, production usually happens in someone else's facility. The product reaches the shelf under your name, but conformity to the formulation is in a third party's hands.

You cannot see whether your contract manufacturer applies the same formulation batch after batch. Your natural ingredient claim sits at the centre of your marketing with no measurement behind it. Whether the active ingredient proportion matches the declaration is never verified. Export markets ask for an ingredient document.

Risks

Risks in cosmetics.

Contract manufacturing

Production happening in another facility makes conformity invisible.

Natural ingredient claims

An emphasis on natural content sets the price, and proof is asked for because of it.

Ingredient regulation

Scrutiny of component declarations keeps tightening in export markets.

Regulation

Regulations relevant to traceability.

EU

Cosmetic Products Regulation (EC) 1223/2009

Requires a responsible person established in the EU for every cosmetic product placed on the EU market, electronic notification before the product is placed on the market, and a batch number or a reference identifying the product on the label. Having batch information on the product forms the basis of traceability in recalls and complaint investigations.

Cosmetics Law No. 5324 and the Cosmetic Products Regulation: ÜTS notification

In Türkiye, cosmetic products must be notified to the Ministry of Health before they are placed on the market for the first time; the responsible person files the notification with TİTCK through the Product Tracking System (ÜTS), together with the product's original label. This record is the primary source consulted when identifying which responsible person a product on the market belongs to.

FAQ

Questions about cosmetics

Is anything added to our product or our production line?

No. Your product's own composition is examined; your packaging, your recipe and your machinery are left untouched. A product waiting in the warehouse or already on sale can be examined too.

Where do we start?

Let's assess your cosmetics range together. We will start from how you produce and where your raw materials come from.
